Letting Go – A Quick Reaction to Covid-19

Hello my anxious hearts.

Given the current situation it is likely that your anxiety levels are at an all time high. This is so normal. Feelings of lack of control and the unknown. Feeling the isolation. Everyone is at a loss. These simple steps in this illustration shared by my good friend, Dr Rachel Hippolyte, may help.

For those in isolation, keeping to some adjusted routine and almost detaching from what’s going on ‘out there’ is a really effective mental attitude to have. It doesn’t mean being irresponsible. It doesn’t mean lack of care for others. It means caring for you and those closest to you first. Then the rest will hopefully take care of itself.

You can adjust things; like watching only the one main news bulletin each day for the most important advice. Limiting reading online news. Limiting social media. Basically just being careful how much information is coming at you, so your brain doesn’t overload. Information overload always leads to anxiety.

If you are taking all necessary precautions and following all the advice supplied through world health organizations and government, then in truth there is little more you can do. Do your bit to keep yourself and others safe, then let go.

Remember your mental health is THE most important thing right now in order to keep yourself and those you love safe.

It’s only a tiny drop in this big ocean that we’re all trying to navigate. But I hope it helps a bit.

There’s lots of general anxiety advice in the anxiety section. And I will aim to share something more as soon as I can.

In the meantime, please stay safe my loves. I’m sending you all my love and strength for coming days ❤️

Onwards

Kiki x
