A Christmas Gift Guide for Her 2016
I can’t quite believe that we are already back at that time of year when we are thinking about Christmas. This year has flown by. But its time to get out the little black dress and start thinking about glitz and glamour, presents, good food and fun times with your nearest and dearest.
So back by popular demand, here is my Christmas Gift Guide for Her for 2016. I hope it sparks some excitement and gives you some ideas, and be sure to share it with the men in your life for some hints for your wish list. Plus you can always treat yourself too.
JEWELLERY ~
As always a gift of jewellery is always a winner in my book. You can never have enough. Ive been totally inspired by some small business artisans this year and I have found some great pieces.
To start with is Black & Sigi. A small business that is run by 2 sisters. Their collections are beautiful and totally unique and are really reasonably priced. Here’s few of my favourites:
First is the Aphrodite Wire Wrapped Bangle. It comes in silver or gold finish.
Then there’s the Juno Bangle. Again either an all silver finish or with gold wrap. I have the silver. Its a beautiful piece, weighty and elegant.
For those that like more of a statement then there is the Solar Bangle in Black Porcelain. Again you can pick a silver or gold setting
For a more classic and fun style of jewellery then there is Bella Jane Jewellery. Her stackable bracelets are favourites with many top bloggers. They look beautiful alone or in a cluster. All are sterling silver so will last without tarnishing.
The Heart Bracelet is timeless and unique and a perfect gift.
As is the same design with The Star.
The Eternal Heart Bracelet is classic and has rose gold highlights. Perfect alone or in a stack.
It would look beautiful with the True Friend Bracelet
For a personalised item, the Say What You C range of bracelets are fab. Take a look at their website for their full range of personalised items.
My favourite is the Bar Bracelet. It comes in silver, gold or rose gold and you can have it personalised with any name.
Not on The High Street is really a one stop shop for anything that is unique and special, especially jewellery.
The Name Necklace made by Anna Lou London, is perfect. Way back since Carrie Bradshaw from Sex in the City adorned hers, they have never gone out of style.
For bigger budgets and fine jewellery, then Mejuri are taking the blogging world by storm. So much so they have worked with some of the worlds top bloggers to offer collaborations of jewellery reflective of the current fashions and street styles.
They offer delicate, hand made pieces in various finishes that work well with any jewellery that you already own.
My picks are the Beaded Rings in White Gold
I also love the Diamond Open Ring in rose gold
or White Gold.
For a necklace that is simple, elegant and timeless, then the Mejuri Bare and Beautiful Lines collection have two beautiful pieces that I love.
The Gold Vermeil with White Sapphire Necklace is Scandinavian inspired in its simplicity and basic lines.
As is the Cylinder Necklace.
For earrings, their simple Mini Diamond Studs are every girls dream. They are timeless and elegant and will become something of a treasure.
For fashion jewellery the big item this season is big earrings, particularly the tassle earring. Worn with the hair slicked back into a ponytail, so that the earrings do the talking. There are so many out there to choose from but I love these Black Drop Tassle Earrings from River Island.
Stars are everywhere this season, from clothing to jewels. These Silver Tone Gem Star Studs also from River Island are gorgeous.
Not On The High Street do some amazing personalised jewels. I still love these Friendship Knot Earrings they are just beautiful for that special friend in your life.
For the necklace, only one choice really. The choker. The 90’s are back in full flow. So any plain black choker is perfect, but there are so many out there to choose from.
My pick is the simple Black Ribbon choker from New Look.
But I do still love a statement necklace. My pick is this beautiful Gold Katz Triangular Fan Collar Necklace from Oliver Bonas.
SLIPPERS ~
Christmas is not Christmas without new slippers.
This year I’m loving Next’s selection as always. These Pom Pom Ballerina Slippers. They come in blue, navy or black.
I also love these Furry Suede Mules from Next that come in 8 lush colour choices.
For something more luxury then I’m loving The White Company’s Pom Pom Feather slipper.
If you feel that slippers are old news, then maybe go for cashmere socks. The White Company know their cashmere. And with these beautiful Cashmere Bed Socks, that come in a variety of colours, you cant go wrong. I bought them as gifts last year and they went down so well.
Next also have a set on offer at a bargain price, Twin Pack of Wool/Cashmere Socks.
CLOTHING ~
There’s so much to choose from this season but a few of my favourites:
The little black dress: Lace and sequins are still big this year, but the high neck is the finishing touch. Velvet is really big too. Also pleats and a midi or maxi length mean you can find something that is right for you.
Monsoon do it right every season. This year my pick is the Roxanna Dress.
It also comes in a maxi length for those who don’t want to go too short. Maxi dress and heels is a winner this year.
The Top shop Patchwork Shift is a beautiful dress that ticks all the boxes for this seasons LBD. NB. Stock is changing on this daily so keep checking in.
Anthropologie offer an eclectic range of beautiful clothes, accessories and homeware. Their LBD’s are no different. I love the Paloma Pleated Midi.
Whistles have been a long loved British brand and they offer a wide selection of beautifully curated pieces. My pick is this Ezra Sparkle Fringe Dress. The price point is high but I have a feeling this would be a wardrobe staple for years.
For the fuller figure there is a beautiful Navy Lace Midi from River Island
ASOS Curve always have a great selection. I love the classic shape of the Wiggle Dress.
If you are not feeling the LBD this festive season, then what about a suit? Either the tuxedo look or the velvet finish are the suits of choice. Marks and Spencer are killing it in every department at the moment, but long has been their reign. But their womens wear is becoming increasingly popular among fashionistas.
This M&S Luxury Velvet Suit is beautiful.
And this Tuxedo Jacket and Tuxedo Trousers from Zara are gorgeous.
If not the suit or the LBD then why not opt for a skirt? Midi length pleated skirts are this seasons biggest trend. The more metallic and sparkly the better. Worn with a simple black camisole and heels and you are a force to be reckoned with.
Marks and Spencer have again nailed it. Their Metallic Pleated Skirt is perfect.
The Miss Selfridge Foil Skirt from ASOS is a dream in a rose gold colour.
For the fuller figure, Elvi have a wide range of options but I love this Black Contrast Pleat Skirt.
Tops: Victorian high neck tops are still huge this season and look amazing with skinny jeans, leather trousers or a sequin skirt like this one from H&M.
The top that every fashionista is wearing is this beautiful Victorian Lace Top from Monsoon.
The metallic theme continues to run through all areas of fashion this season. Alexa Chung has presented a coveted and curated ‘Archive’ collection for M&S and it is proving hugely popular. The Metallic Aire Shirt is the perfect choice with leather jeans or a mini skirt.
Jumpers are the ‘it’ item to own this year. I’m not talking Christmas novelty jumpers, but pretty much anything else goes. Basic, crew neck sweaters in black, navy or grey are a must have. But if you can opt for a logo or star print then you are really where the fashion family are. Wear with the obvious jeans, or be a bit more out there and team it with the pleated skirt and kicks or leather skinny trousers.
The @selfishmother blog has a huge following and they run the www.fmlystore.com offering jumpers and tees with the ‘Mother’ logo. Their selling point is that they donate a percentage of all proceeds to women in 8 war-torn countries in order to support and empower them to sustain their own living. So they are coveted items and make any school run cool.
The Mother Boyfriend Sweatshirt in grey is a staple.
For logo jumpers you can look to Gap. I love their Star Sweater in Black.
M&S offer so many great jumpers. Star jumpers are the main event this season and this Chunky Star Jumper is fab.
If you really want to treat the woman in your life then the brand is Chinti & Parker. They specialise is cashmere sweaters and they have so many beautiful ones to choose from. My personal fave is the Star Slouchy Jumper but be warned, the price tags make them beyond special!
There is also Bella Freud. Notable British designer is taking the world by storm with her designs. Most coveted is the ‘1970’ design. I love this Neon Pink.
Shoes: There are so many to mention I won’t even try. But as far as fashion goes,
the Multi Strap Pointed Court from M&S is on every bloggers foot. And with a price point so low, you cant go wrong.
I also need to mention the Mule. Its this years shoe of choice, and again M&S have nailed it and my instagram feed has been flooded with them.
First are the Stiletto Knotted Mule that comes in black and stunning metallic gold. Absolutely beautiful.
Faux fur coats remain massive this year. They are available in so many colour ways and patterns. Topshop’s selection is fab as always. I love this Vintage Fur.
This Camouflage Faux Fur from M&S is so incredible.
MAKE-UP ~
Charlotte Tilbury still reigns supreme having taken the world by storm in the past 2 years. As always she has some fab smaller gifts as well as her staples.
I love this Legendary Party Eyes set that includes her amazing Rock n Kohl eye pencil in Bedroom Black together with a sample of her newest mascara, Legendary Lashes.
Her Lipstick Mini Charms are a fantastic way to try her lipsticks.
Her ‘Filmstar Bronze and Glow’, for a touch of old school Hollywood, this bronzer and highlighter is still incredible.
Bobbi Brown celebrates her 25th Anniversary this year. As always she has brought out amazing holiday pieces. I love the Golden Eye Palette which will look beautiful on all colourings. Bobbi has her famous brush sets again this year which make makeup application a dream. The Mini Travel Set is rose gold this year and is a perfect Christmas gift for her.
Chanel is and always will be a luxury in anyone’s language. That black and white packaging gets me every time!
This year I have been using the Volume de Chanel Mascara which is one of the best I have ever tried. It comes in a waterproof formula too.
I use the Soleil Tan De Chanel as a bronzer. I find that the cream formula is more forgiving on older skins than a powder, and the colour pay of is incredible. Apply with a stippling brush over or under your foundation.
The Chanel Rouge Noir nail colour is without doubt a cult product and is completely timeless and classic. And wrapped with that black bow, its going to win you prizes every time.
The Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat remains a staple in every girls make up bag. It is a concealer and highlighter in one. I have used this for years and with the gold packaging it really is a luxury. This Christmas they have brought out a gift set ‘The Art of Highlighting’ that includes the Touche Eclat together with a sample of The Eclat Blur Primer. It looks beautiful as a gift and is a sure winner.
Clinique make Christmas fun with their gift selection. The Chubby Lips ‘Sweet Kissers Gift Set’ is lovely and makes the perfect gift for lipstick lovers for £20.
Mac Boldy Bare is this years most coveted lip pencil and teamed with Mac Patisserie, you have a beautiful nude lip combination made in heaven.
Toyshop always have amazing offerings for Christmas in their beauty department too. I love the lip bullets. The colour pay off is amazing. I love this Limited Edition Lip Bullet Minis.

The Cross Body bag is always a winner and never seems to go out of style.
I love this Poppy Cross Body from Oliver Bonas.
I also love the Camera Bags from Accessorize. These too have taken the blogger world by storm. I especially love the Multi Large Leopard Mix bag.
For a luxury piece then the Jaegar Parker Cross Body is a beautiful bag that will last your girl for years to come.
It also comes in a beautiful Leoprd Print for something really different.
For something really special this year then the personalised bags are big news. Especially monogrammed bags. Rae Feather is the name on most celebrity and blogger’s lips.
Their Canvas Tote is the perfect gift ready for the summer.
Their straw clutches are also very coveted. I love the simple design of the blue and white stripe.
For some affordable glitz then the Angelina Sparkle Clutch from Accessorise is beautiful.
You can never go wrong with a tote bag. Zara are always my first stop. They have high fashion styles with an affordable price tag.
They have great reversible totes, but I’m really loving this Fabric Tote.
For a higher budget then The Whistles Regent Black Leather Tote is a classic and will last for years.
PYJAMAS ~
Christmas PJ’s are a must. We all want them and you don’t have to be a kid to get excited.I love Next for PJ’s. They are affordable and quality is great.
This year I love these Star Print PJ’s
and also the classic cut brushed cotton Grey Button Through Star Print Pyjama. For something festive then I love the Ecru/Navy My Christmas PJ’s.
Tesco and a lot of the high street supermarkets offer great price PJ’s and nightwear. I love this Tartan Nightshirt from F&F at Tesco.
For pure luxury then The White Company Herringbone PJ are just beautiful and classic and will last years.
FRAGRANCE~
Fragrance is still always a perfect gift. Whether its her own notable scent or the candle she lights when she takes her bath. I like to stick with once scent and own it. So always buy her favourite perfume.
My favourite has always been Vivienne Westwood’s Boudoir.
Charlotte Tilbury has launched her own scent this year and it is, like all she touches, taking the beauty world by storm. Scent of A Dream looks like a 1940’s bottle and the scent claims to draw love, light, power and sexuality to the wearer. Get me 10 bottles!
Jo Malone is just pure luxury whether that be fragrance or candles. To get started the Pomegranate Noir Candle is the perfect gift. The scent is woody, fruity and elegantly dark.
The White company Winter Signature Candle is our family favourite and really makes the home smell like Christmas.
H&M have got a wondrous collection of candles on offer. The Red Cinnamon,Bergamot and Patchouli are beautiful.
The White Company Fresh Fig Room Spray is divine and they also do the same fragrance in their Room Diffuser as well as many other fragrances.

A photo frame is always a winner, everyone loves to be surrounded by memories. This White Rose Photo Frame from M&S is beautiful. And if you can put a photo in it, of a special occasion you shared, then that makes the gift even more wonderful.
For something for the whole family then there is an increase in unique personalised home features. I love the Letter LED Lights from Home full of Dreams.
The LED White Wood LightBox is amazing too for something really different in your home which you can make unique to you and your family.
